U.S. Navy Takes Another Step in Alternative Fuels Initiative
The U.S. Navy took another step in its initiative to increase its use of alternative fuels in its fleet. On Thursday, a Navy warship fueled up with a blended, palm oil biofuel for the first time off of Italy’s southern coast. The U.S. Navy currently operates thirty percent of its fleet on alternative energy sources, with a goal to reach fifty percent by 2020.
