Arkansas and Twenty-Eight States Petition Supreme Court to Stay Implementation of Clean Power Plan
Arkansas Attorney General Leslie Rutledge joined with the Attorneys General of twenty-eight other states in filing a writ of certiorari to the United States Supreme Court asking for a stay of the Clean Power Plan while the legality of the Plan is litigated. The United States Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit had refused to stay implementation of the Plan's sweeping regulations while it hears arguments in West Virginia, et al v. E.P.A. Industry groups have also filed a request to stay the Plan. Responses from the E.P.A. and Obama administration are imminent.
