Federal Energy Regulatory Commission Adjusts Civil Penalties Pursuant to 2015 Legislation

        The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) recently issued an interim final rule changing the civil penalties the commission can assess under the Federal Power Act, the Natural Gas Act, and the Interstate Commerce Act.  The FERC penalty changes bring the commission in compliance with the Federal Civil Penalties Inflation Adjustment Act Improvements Act of 2015.  Under the new changes, the penalties assessed have been increased by as much as $7,000 dollars a day in some instances.  To ensure compliance with FERC regulations contact John Peiserich or any regulatory lawyer at PPGMR Law.  The link to the order increasing FERC penalties can be found here.
