Arkansas Joins States Seeking Stay of Clean Power Plan
On August 6, 2015, State Attorney General Leslie Rutledge released a statement that Arkansas has joined several other states in requesting that the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency ("EPA") immediately stay its issuance of the final Clean Power Plan. Fifteen states including Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Lousiana, Nebraska, Ohio, Oklahoma, South Carolina, South Dakota, Utah, West Virginia, Wisconsin, and Wyoming have indicated that they intend to file a lawsuit challenging the Plan. These states ask that EPA take action on their stay request by Friday, August 7.
